Next you need to start a physical exercise routine. It is known that exercise keeps your heart working well, but if you don’t continue to work out the benefits will diminish quickly. Studies show that people who exercise routinely have a much healthier heart than those who have stopped exercising. Anyone at any age can start a exercise routine, it is never too late and the benefits will always be there.

Lifting weightsWeight training is also considered very beneficial for your heart. It increases the strength of all of your muscles and the stronger you are the less tired you will be. With weight training you will relieve stress and your muscles will keep your heart working well.

You should avoid drugs and alcohol. Did you know that certain drugs increase your chances of having a heart attack?

You should also watch your diet - there are simple changes you can make like using extra virgin olive oil instead of vegetable oil. This oil lowers cholesterol and fat and is a much healthier choice.

The last thing you need to know is your heritage. You need to know if your family is known for having heart attacks. Your genetics are part of who you are.
