We all know about the benefits of sit ups and push ups. In fact, these are pretty basic exercises in most routines, but sometimes you need more than just basic exercises, and you need to work those muscles out, especially if you want that terrific body. Of course you want to diet, but diets can’t do it alone, you need to add those specialty exercises into your routine.
A great exercise to add into your workout routine is the squat thrust. These will really work those muscles out. Give you some great muscle tone and increase your metabolism.

Put your hands flat on the floor, shoulder width apart and stretch your legs out, just as if you were going to do push ups.
Bend your knees and bring your legs up underneath your chest. Then take your legs back to their original place. You want to do this fast and hard and do many repetitions for it to be truly effective.

Again there are many variations to the squat thrust, you can push each leg forward and alternate, one leg thrusting back as the other comes forward, and vice versa.
You can also add a little weight and tension to your squat thrusts as time progresses. Remember though, that you want to start small and then add more tension as your body gets used to the exercise.

The squat thrusts work on your hamstrings, your glutes, and your quads, they also work on your triceps. Just be careful that you don’t injure yourself or work out to hard when you first start out.
Remember that the exercise by itself wont give you the benefits you need. You have to add diet and other types of exercise routines too.
